Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, experienced individual to join Standard’s Capital Region office as a full-time Residential HVAC Service Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems in residential properties. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our customers. Responsibilities
- Install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential properties according to specifications and building codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and installation procedures.
- Measure, cut, and fit ductwork and piping using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Install electrical wiring and controls for HVAC systems, ensuring proper connections and functionality.
- Test HVAC systems to ensure they are operating efficiently and meet performance standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing components as needed.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with HVAC systems, identifying the root cause and implementing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with other team members and contractors to coordinate installation projects and ensure timely completion.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or questions from homeowners and ensuring their satisfaction with the installed HVAC systems.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, labor hours, and service reports.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in HVAC installation preferred.
- Proven experience as an HVAC installer, with a minimum of three to five in residential settings.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration principles.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and safety standards related to HVAC installation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- EPA Universal Certification for handling refrigerants.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and navigate rooftops.
- Stamina to work in various weather conditions and environments, including hot attics and tight crawl spaces.
Salary Range
Hourly wage commensurate with experience, ranging from $30 to $40 per hour. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Standard reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
